 Firmware Engineer : Santa Clara, CA

 Job Responsibilities   

             Adapt and productize algorithms into appropriate products.

             Develop new chip product functionality, communications protocols, and sensing algorithms.

             Identify firmware problems during quality investigation and recovery efforts.

             Work closely with other functional teams during product development and QA investigation efforts.

             Develop firmware using assembly language and higher level language for products.


Required Qualifications   


         Bachelor or Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

         5+ years of embedded, real-time firmware development experience

         Extensive C and assembly programming experience on small 8/16 bit micro controllers (PIC, AVR, PSOC, MSP430, 8051, HC08, HC12, Z8 etc)

         I2C, SPI, RS-232, RS-485 or other inter-processor communications.

         Familiar with analog and digital systems, ADCs, DACs, sensors.

         Familiar with common test equipment (DVM, oscilloscope, frequency generator).

         Windows PC applications program development experience is a plus.

         Enjoys learning. Wants to know how things work.

         Is creative and likes to invent, optimize and improve.

         Excellent written and verbal communications skill

Senior Firmware Engineer #2

Job Responsibilities   
 
         Design and develop small footprint embedded software for use in products.  

         Work closely with members of the firmware team and cross functional teams to develop quality products.  

         Investigate problems and identify robust solutions quickly.  

         Position reports to the firmware manager within the Product Development Group.

Required Qualifications   

         BS or greater, preferably in Computer Science or a related field.

         Minimum of 10 years experience in real-time embedded software development.

         Minimum of 10 years of code development using assembly language and a higher level language like C/C++.

         Experience with I2C, SPI, RS-232, RS-485 or other inter-processor communications.

         Familiarity with analog and digital systems, ADCs, DACs, sensors.

         Familiarity with Logic Analyzers, ICE, DVM, Oscilloscope and similar tools is a must.

         DSP is a plus

         Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
